Sehgahunda Preview Run #3: CP3 to CP6 by krista.a.englert at Garmin Connect - Details

Back from Letchworth State Park.  Very slow pace on account of the wet conditions coupled with significant leaf cover (which basically equates to ice).  Plus, I didn't want to kill myself anymore than I feel like I already have.  I did 16-ish miles on Sunday, and hard tempo run on Wednesday (along with some "nice and easy" runs).  I'm sure I'm still feeling the effects.

It rained like crazy heading down, and my friend Kim and I were kind of dreading.  But I wanted to run, since it could rain on race day; I just didn't want any surprises.  Thankfully there was enough canopy on the trail that we stayed pretty dry, and didn't feel the wind.  I had a light rain jacket, running skirt, calf sleeves, and I selected my Salomon Gore-Tex XA Comp 5 for protection over the SpeedCross for traction. It was the right decision; my feet felt pretty good until one of the last gullies as we headed back; it had become deeper since we crossed it heading out.

I skipped going back up Checkpoint 4 as the roots retained enough water that kept it pretty much flooded.  I wanted to keep running and keep my heart rate up and hit the hills.

This was Kim's longest run since her 101 mile treadmill feat back in February.  She said she felt good, but I think she was also much appreciative of my heated car seats!

No pics this week...D is in Michigan visiting his son and he has the camera.  But as always...a beautiful elevation profile:
