Cable FREE!

Well, the Super Bowl and NCAA Finals are over.  And I've turned in the cable box.

A few thoughts:

1.  Time Warner Cable in Rochester is perhaps the scariest place on earth.  Which is interesting, since it's a stone's throw from Dave's office (NYS Parole).  I saw both a drug deal and a hooker pick-up in the parking lot.

2.  The security desk has a big can of "Oust" air freshener.  Hmmm....

3.  I have not *not* had cable since who knows when.  When I reconnected my TV, it was stuck on one station playing "Walker, Texas Ranger".  Panic set in. Luckily a fellow teammate emailed me with some instructions that now felt like "well, duh!".  For example, I didn't know that the big white cord was also to the antenna, not just for the cable box.

Oddly, not having cable is a huge weight of my shoulders.  As much as I like my Comedy Central, I think this is going to be a good thing.   I bought a couple magazines today and I am really looking forward to reading them without distraction.

  1. Hey, Krista. We got rid of the cable a couple of years ago and it is very liberating. You can find ways around catching the odd episode of whatever on the internet when ever you need your fix of something. Enjoy!
