Farewell, my friend
Today we said goodbye to the best friend anyone could have.
My mom said it best:
"Krista and Dave had to say goodbye today to their wonderful Moe. Their hearts are brokern. He was 17.
Dear Sweet Moe. You were not just a good dog; you were the BEST dog – full of love and gentleness. You needed to be so very big to carry around all your goodness. I think you were so happy to be rescued that you turned around and rescued Dave right back.
You kept the home fires burning during three Army deployments – one in Afghanistan and two in Iraq. You did not like duffle bags. You always kept the hippos away while you were left in charge of the house. You were so patient with Herman and you were his first dog friend. You never growled when he ate your food. I will miss you."
Long ago we realized that losing Moe would be the hardest thing we'd ever go through. And even with that expectation, we can't begin to wrap our heads around how much we miss him.
Moe, we can't cry hard enough. We miss you so much. And I'm sure Bam-Bam, Frankie, Charley and Bonnie are showing you the ropes in heaven. We'll see you one day, on the Rainbow Bridge.
