Angels in the sky

This past weekend was the Rochester Air Show.  To coordinate with Rochester's "Navy Week" (I didn't know Rochester had it's own Navy Week"), the Blue Angels were part of the show.

While there are things about urban life that bug the bejeezus out of me, the Air Show is not one of those things.  I love living near the airport.  I love how Dave can text me when he gets to the baggage claim and I can then leave to go pick him up.  I love watching - and listening - to the Blackhawk and Chinook helicopters from the National Guard unit fly over my house.  In fact, this was a major reason why I don't waste my time with the Neighborhood Advocacy/Neighborhood Watch group...one of the first items on their agenda was their displeasure for all the military aircraft flying.

Sorry, grannies - they were here before you.  And I'll be darned if I tell the military they can only train in their Chinooks - a helicopter primarily flown at night in war zones - between 9AM and 5 PM.

So, with the proximity of the airport, I get to see a lot of the airshow for free.  I LOVED hearing - and feeling - the Blue Angels buzz over my house over the past week.  I wish they were still here!
