"Hell on Hills" - The first Sehgahunda Training Group Run

Today was the first large group workout for the Sehgahunda Trail Marathon training group.  It was being supervised by the group "facilitator" (don't call him "coach"), Boots.

All we heard before-hand was that it was going to be on the road.  And it was called "Hell on Hills".

Appropriately named.  a 0.65 mile incline of about 290 ft of gain (per Garmin...take it for what it's worth)  The workout's purpose was consistency:  Run "uncomfortably hard" up the hill, take it waaaaay easy down.  Go back again, with the goal of meeting or bettering your time from Lap 1 with each subsequent uphill.  Once you went over your time for the first lap, your workout was over.

I had 6:35, 6:35 (hit the "lap" button late on Lap 2 - I swear!), and 7:15.  The last lap felt ok respiratory-wise but my quads just would not cooperate.

Perfect day for the workout...cold but sunny, and the road was clear.  Absolutely awesome, challenging workout that makes me want to do more, but my body says it really needs it's rest day tomorrow...

A little sample...two of the three laps
